Find Local Food and Farms

I had a great interview with Terra Osman on the Homesteading for Beginners podcast. Terra Osman is the Founder and CEO of the Farmish app. This app will be a game-changer for your local shopping and/or selling experience. If you are looking for something to help you find local farmers and homesteaders selling their produce and goods, start searching today by downloading the Farmish app.

My interview with Terra Osman is divided into 4 episodes. You can listen to the podcast on your favorite podcast player or on YouTube.

In this four-part series, we discussed:

  • Terra’s story and why she decided to create the Farmish app
  • Terra’s suburban homestead and how much food she produces from her third of an acre property
  • Walk-through on how to use the Farmish app
  • Different uses for the Farmish app for a better buying and selling experience

Farmish is a marketplace app for local food and farms. Users can buy/sell backyard eggs, garden supplies, plants, trees, and more. Buyers search on a map or by keyword and message the seller to complete the sale.

Part 1: Find Local Food and Farms with the Farmish App

During the pandemic, a lot of people found they had extra time on their hands. Many people chose to start learning homesteading skills like gardening, raising chickens, and making homemade goods. Terra found herself wondering if there was a way to help connect the people who had a lot of extra food to the people who wanted to buy food from local farmers and homesteaders. She saw a need and filled that need with an app called Farmish. Listen to episode 41 of the Homesteading for Beginners podcast for part 1 of the interview.

Part 2: Suburban Homesteading with Terra Osman

Terra shares about her homesteading journey in part 2 of the interview. Her inspiring story will be an encouragement to you if you believe you don’t have enough space to start homesteading. Do you know how much food you can grow on a third of an acre? A lot! Listen to episode 43 of the Homesteading for Beginners podcast to hear more about Terra’s journey.

Part 3: Make Your Life Easier with the Farmish App

In episode 45 of the podcast, Terra walks us step-by-step through using the Farmish app. While the app is very easy to use, it’s always nice hearing how the creator intended for it to be used. Be sure to download the app and have it open while you are listening to this episode. Terra offers some great ways to use the app as well. For instance, you can use the app while planning vacation trips. Find the local farms in the area you plan to vacation. You can get farm-fresh eggs, attend events, and so much more just by doing a search in Farmish as part of your vacation plans.
